Takbirah al Ihram, also known as the "First Takbir", is the initial declaration of "Allahu Akbar" (الله أكبر) that marks the beginning of the Islamic prayer (Salah).
It is called Takbirah al Ihram because it is the threshold between the state of not praying and entering into the prayer.
