Abdullah ibn Salam was a Jew in Yathrib who belonged to the Banu Qaynuqa tribe and claimed descent from Joseph.
He was widely respected and honored by the people of the city, including those who were not Jewish. He was known for his piety and goodness, righteous conduct and truthfulness.
The 45 Muhajireen were there at the time of Mawakhat.
Mawakhat's meaning is Brotherhood and Solidarity in Islam.
Brotherhood among the Sahaba refers to the time after the Hijra when the Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H instituted brotherhood between the emigrants of Makkah and the natives of Medina, the Ansar (literally "helpers").
Katheebal-Hannan is the sand mountain where the Holy Prophet and the Sahabah first stayed when they arrived at Badr. The Prophet (PBUH)) spent the whole night here asking Allah for His help. The Muslims arrived here on a Thursday night, on the eve of the battle. The Prophet (PBUH)) spent the whole night preceding the day of the battle in prayer and supplication at the foot of a tree. A gentle rain fell and lulled the men, weary after their long march, into a refreshing sleep.
