promotion of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir to Field Marshal.

The rank of Field Marshal is the highest rank of
armies built on the patron of the British Army.
It may be noted that after his promotion, Gen Asim Munir will
become the country’s second field marshal only after Field Marshal Ayub Khan.
