A car covers 25 km at a uniform speed. If the speed had been 8 km/h more, it would have taken 10 hours less for the same journey. What is the speed of the car (in km/h)?

Here distance ‘d’ = 25 km, time = t, speed = s

Then we have from the relation speed =

And it is given that if the distance = 25, s = s + 8, t = t – 10

Hence the speed is 2 km/hr.
