If the rate of tax is 10% on, salary, then the  monthly salary of a person who pays Rs. 4500 tax per month is  Rs. 15000

Let us assume that the income of the man is Rs. y.

We are given that he pays 10% of his income as income tax, i.e.

His income tax = Rs. 10/100 × y.

We are given that he pays Rs. 1500 as income tax.

1500 = 10/100 × y

 y = 1500 x 10 = 15000.
