x = x/3 + x/4 + 3x/8 + 9,

taking x common,

1 = 1/3 + 1/4 + 3/8 + 9/x,

1 – (1/3 + 1/4 + 3/8) = 9/x,

1 – ((8 + 6 + 9)/24) = 9/x,
