A man has some hens and cows. If number of heads is 48 and number of feet is 140, then the number of hens will be?
ایک ادمی کے پاس کچھ مرغیاں اور گائے ہیں اگر سروں کی تعداد 48 ہے اور پیروں کی تعداد 140 ہے تو مرغیوں کی تعداد کتنی ہوگی
Answer: 26
Explanation
Number of heads = 48
Number of feet = 140
Calculation:
Let the number of hens is x and the number of cows is y. Therefore,
x + y = 48 ----(1)
According to the question,
2x + 4y = 140
⇒ x + 2y = 70 ----(2)
Subtracting (1) from (2), we get
y = 22
Put this value in equation (1)
⇒ x = 48 - 22 = 26
No.of hens =26
No. of cows =22.
