Explanation

• The Partition of Bengal was announced by Lord Curzon on 20 July 1905.
• It came into force on 16 October 1905.
• The Hindu community and the Indian National Congress strongly opposed it.
• In December 1911, King George V announced the revocation of the partition at his Coronation Durbar in Delhi.
