Explanation

According to the theory of forms, the material world is an "Image" (mere shadow of the real world.)

This theory is proposed by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato.

In Plato's philosophy, he posite two separate realms:

1. The physical realm (perceived with our senses).
2. The realm of forms or ideas (represents the true reality).
