Explanation

An over-protected child is the one who is excessively or unnecessarily protected by his/her parents.

Such a child tend to display the following problems:

• They find themselves to be overly dependent on their parents, hence are less prepared to deal with the challenges of future life.
• They tend to be more inactive than other children.
• They grow up to show immature behaviour when encountering an unfavourable situation.
• They lack the skill of self-regulation.
• Since such children weren’t allowed to make decisions on their own, hence, lack self-confidence.
• They lack self-esteem and often doubt their self-worth.
