Color blindness is a trait?
Color blindness is a trait?
Explanation
Color blindness is inherited as a recessive trait on the X chromosome.
This is known in genetics as X-linked recessive inheritance.
Males have only one X chromosome and are hemizygous for X-linked traits.
Additional informational:
Colorblindness is an X-linked chromosome (criss-cross inheritance)
The man has XY chromosomes (1 X chromosome)
and female having XX chromosome (2 X chromosome).
If the male is colorblind but the mother is normal then there is a 50% chance to reproduce the colorblind disease progeny and 50% other.
