Explanation

The Widal test is used to diagnose Typhoid fever.

It detects antibodies against Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi, the bacteria responsible for typhoid.

It is a serological test that checks for agglutination (clumping) of bacteria in response to specific antigens.
