Explanation

Ibn Rushd (1126-1198 CE) developed the theory of "The Eternity of the Universe" in his work "The Incoherence of the Incoherence".

He argued that the universe has always existed and will always exist, with no beginning or end.

This idea was controversial in his time, as it seemed to contradict the Islamic doctrine of creation.
