Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) was a Tunisian polymath and historian who is widely regarded as the father of sociology.

He is best known for his seminal work, "The Muqaddimah" (The Prolegomena).

This laid the foundations for the social sciences, particularly sociology, historiography, and economics.
