Explanation

Lee Kuan Yew (1923-2015) was a Singaporean statesman and politician.

He served as the country's first Prime Minister from 1959 to 1990.

He is widely credited as the "Father of Modern Singapore" for his role in transforming the city-state from a poor post-colonial economy to a thriving global financial hub.
