Explanation

The Deccan Plateau is a large volcanic plateau located in western and central India.

It covers an area of over 500,000 square kilometers.

It is bounded by the Western Ghats to the west, the Eastern Ghats to the east, and the Vindhya Range to the north.

The plateau extends southwards into the state of Tamil Nadu.
