The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) was established on March 15, 2006.

It is headquartered at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

However, the UNHRC replaced the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

It was established in 1946 and was also chaired by Eleanor Roosevelt.
