Explanation

The old name of Baghdad was Madinat al-Salam (City of Peace).

It was founded in 762 CE by the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mansur along the Tigris River.

Madinat al-Salam served as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate and later became known as Baghdad, which grew into a significant cultural and intellectual center during the Islamic Golden Age
