Explanation

The seven points in Bentham's Hedonic Calculus are:

Intensity: How strong is the pleasure or pain?

Duration: How long will the pleasure or pain last?

Certainty: How likely is it that the pleasure or pain will occur?

Propinquity: How soon will the pleasure or pain occur?

Fecundity: The likelihood that the pleasure or pain will lead to more of the same sensation.

Purity: The likelihood that the pleasure or pain will lead to some of the opposite sensation.

Extent: How many people will be affected by the pleasure or pain?
