Shabir Ahmad Usmani led the group of Deoband scholars who broke away and supported Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Pakistan Movement.

He also played a key role in framing Pakistan’s first Objectives Resolution.

He was a respected Islamic scholar.
