Central Zakat Council Nomination Procedures

Overview

The Central Zakat Council shall consist of a Chairman and four persons to be nominated by the President, of whom there shall be Ulema nominated in consultation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The Central Zakat Council is responsible for overseeing the administration of Zakat at the national level, and for ensuring that the principles of Islamic law are applied in a fair and transparent manner.

The Central Zakat Council plays a critical role in the administration of Zakat in Pakistan, and it is responsible for a range of tasks, including the collection and distribution of Zakat funds, as well as the supervision of the Zakat committees at the local and district levels. The council must also ensure that the Zakat and Usher Ordinance is implemented in a way that is consistent with the principles of Islamic law and the constitution of Pakistan.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs plays an important role in the Central Zakat Council, as it is responsible for providing guidance and support on matters related to Islamic law and the administration of Zakat. In order to carry out its responsibilities, the Central Zakat Council must work closely with other stakeholders, including the District Zakat and Usher Committees and the Local Zakat and Ushr Committees. The council must also ensure that it is transparent and accountable in its operations, and that it provides regular reporting and updates to the relevant authorities.
