Explanation

The Tribal Areas, adjoining Laki Marwat and Tank districts, are declared to be part of FATA.

The Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan is a 2011 amendment expanding the FATA

FATA is 27220 square kilometers.

FATA consisted of two types of areas:

1.      Tribal Agencies (Tribal Districts)

2.      Frontier Regions (FRs).

There were seven Tribal Agencies and six Frontier Regions

History:

The proposed amendment was presented on 21 December 2010 by Chairman Raza Rabbani in the National Assembly

 Amendment was Passed by the National Assembly on December 22, 2010,

by the Senate on December 30, 2010,

and assented to by the President on January 1, 2011
