Explanation

Surah Fatiha (Chapter 1 of the Quran) is often referred to as "Babul Quran," meaning "The Gate of the Quran" or "The Opening of the Quran."

It is the opening chapter.

It is recited in every unit of prayer (rak'ah) in Muslim worship.

Surah Fatiha is also known by several other names, including:

Umm al-Kitab (Mother of the Book)

Umm al-Quran (Mother of the Quran)

Al-Sab'a al-Mathani (The Seven Oft-Repeated Verses)

Al-Hamd (The Praise)

As-Salah (The Prayer)
