Explanation

The Legal Framework Order, 1970 (LFO) was a decree issued by Gen. Agha Muhammad Yahya Khan.

It laid down the political principles and laws governing the 1970 general election,

which was the first direct election in the history of Pakistan.

The LFO also dissolved the "One Unit" scheme of West Pakistan

re-establishing the four provinces of:

• Punjab,
• Sindh
• Balochistan 
• the Northwest Frontier Province
