The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global money laundering and terrorism financing watchdog, on 21 October 2022 removed Pakistan from a list of countries under “increased monitoring”, also known as the "grey list".

Pakistan was removed from the FATF’s enhanced monitoring list after meeting 34 action items.

Pakistan was added to the list in 2018 due to strategic deficiencies FATF had identified in the country's anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing systems,
