Twelve children on average were subjected to sexual abuse every day in Pakistan from January to June 2023, according to a report published on 24 August 2023 by Sahil — a non-profit organisation that advocates for the protection of children.

In 2023, the total number of abuse victims was 2,227.

Of the 2,227 victims, more than half (54pc) were girls.
