The length of the base and altitude of a triangle is 152 cm and 38 cm respectively. If the area of a square is double the area of this triangle, find the length of the square?
Answer: 76 cm
Explanation
Given:
Base of triangle = 152 cm
Altitude of triangle = 38 cm
Area of triangle = 0.5 * base * altitude
= 0.5 * 152 * 38
= 2888 cm²
Area of square = 2 * area of triangle
= 2 * 2888
= 5776 cm²
Side of square = √area
= √5776
= 76 cm
