6. چونکہ مسلمانوں کا یہ وفد وائسرائے ہند سے شملہ کے مقام پر ملا، اس وجہ سے اسکا نام شملہ وفد بن گیا.

مسلمانوں کے خواہشات :

1. صوبائی اور قومی اسمبلیوں میں مسلمانوں کا الگ نمایندہ ہونا چاہیے.

2. کو نسل میں مسلمانوں کے سیٹ زیادہ ہونا چاہیے.

اس پر سیکٹری آف دی اسٹیٹ جان مارلے خوش نہیں تھا.

لیکن وائسرائے لارڈ منٹو مسلمانوں کے ساتھ خوش تھا.

اس وقت برطانیہ میں لیبر پارٹی بر سر اقتدار تھی جو 1905 میں آئی تھی.
